Currently, I am a Full Professor at the Human Performance Management Group of the Department of Industrial Engineering of Eindhoven University of Technology.
Since 2015, I also hold a formal appointment as Affiliated Researcher at the Department of Psychology of Stockholm University. Moreover, I have a long-standing collaboration with the Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Psicología de los Recursos Humanos, del Desarrollo Organizacional y de la Calidad de Vida Laboral at the University of Valencia.
From 1995 to 2011, I worked at Utrecht University as a Postdoc Researcher and Assistant Professor, and as Deputy Director of the interuniversity Research Institute for Psychology & Health. During this period, I developed a research line on workplace interventions to prevent stress and burnout complaints and to enhance work engagement and performance.

I have an MSc in Psychology from Tilburg University, and obtained a PhD from Utrecht University in 1994 with a thesis on leadership in health care.
